We are aware that there has been much concern about water quality of the Dan River since the recent coal ash spill in Eden, NC (Rockingham County).
We would like to assure you that Danbury and the Hanging Rock area (Stokes County) are 50 miles upstream of the spill site.
NC Wildlife Resources Commission Biologist, Ken Hodges, says "As the river goes through Stokes County, the water is clean and clear, and
there are no pollution issues... You are well upstream of where the spill occurred, and pollutants move downstream... There is absolutely no risk of
the ash coming to Stokes County".
We hope this information relieves any concerns you may have about our area. We look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new customers, as well,
